When you think of Korean sool, the milky, ivory rice makgeolli may come across your mind first.

But here are some traditional liquors that will break that color stereotype.

Buja Gin Omija Gin (ABV 44%)

Buja Gin Omija Gin, in the mysterious color purple, is the first Korean gin made from omija berries.

While the gin is a wonderful cocktail base, it is perfect for drinking neat, offering smooth drinkability, complex flavors and aromas, and perfect balance.

Bling Bling Moraebyeol & NoeulByeol (ABV 15%)

The Bling Bling liqueur series uses pearl food color. Shake the bottle, and the liqueur inside will shine like a beautiful milky way. This is why it is also known as the ‘space booze.’

Moraebyeol is for peach-lovers, and Noeulbyeol is for grape-lovers—pick your favorite flavor!

Hongsi Wine (ABV 10.5% )

Hongsi means a ripe, soft persimmon. Hongsi Wine is fermented with these ripe persimmons for a long time at a low temperature.

The light yellow wine is sweet and sour with a rich hongsi flavor.

Eoltteolgyeoleh Purple (ABV 6% )

Eoltteolgyeoeh Purple is  sparkling makgeolli made from Yeongwol’s Campbell grapes and savory barley.

The brewer injects stored natural carbon acid into this makgeolli, which produces a refreshing and light-bodied drink.
